Samuel, a veteran of the 49’s junior WRs with a hefty dinner bill appeared in the original Bay Area Sports NBC
Deebo Samuel and the 49ers’ wide receivers pulled one fast haul over their junior counterparts.
In a clip posted to rookie receiver Isaiah Winstead’s Instagram Story, Samuel is seen holding a bill from a Las Vegas restaurant dinner worth $15,134.30.
The staggering bill was apparently from a large-scale reception dinner funded by a rookie, but Samuel later explained that it was a joke to scare off the 49ers’ juniors and the real cost was $2,500.
Don’t worry, it was only $2,500. What a deal, right?
San Francisco currently has 11 receivers in training camp, with two starters: Winstead and Ronnie Bell. Still a $2500 bill equates to over $200 per person.
The Freshmen’s Dinner is an annual tradition in the NFL and a way for veterans to welcome first-year players to the league. However, most veterans, like Samuel, end up paying some if not the entire bill themselves after bullying the youngsters.
